Do people in Thailand chew loudly with their mouths open and burp?
My family and i went out for Thai food at a “real thai food” restaurant. there was a couple who were only able to speak the thai language and looked like thye had recently moved to America. When they got their food, the husband was chewing so loud the whole restaurant could hear, he sounded like a disgusting cat! Then as my whole family was laughing at how obnoxious he sounded, he burped really loud and made no effort to hide it. the whole restaurant was giving him shocked looks, but his family didn’t seem to even notice.
We were wondering if this is just how people normally eat their food in Thailand, or if he was just being rude.
No, I’m Thai. I blend my food before and suck it out from a straw. Besides, my burps came out like the sound of music so nobody really make any complaint before.
