OTC sleep aid dosage concern?
I have trouble sleeping, so i bought night time sleep aid liquid gels. the dosage is 1 pill, which is 50mg of diphenhydramine HCl (which is the stuff that also makes your drowsy in bennedryl and PM medicines..like tylonol or NyQuil). I have a very high tolerance to this drug however, so is it okay that i take 3 pills, which would be 150 mg of the diphenhydramine HCl ? is there any damage that can happen ( i know Tylenol messes with the liver, but is there anything harmful in diphenhydramine HCl itself?)
1 doesnt even get me relatively tired…
oh and if it helps at all, i’m 110 pounds with VERY high tolerance to everything (alcohol, medicine, pot, EVERYTHING!)
Honestly, this is a question you really need to be asking your doctor. Anyone here would have no information about you or any tests that have been run on you (or need to be run) so we couldn’t give you anything more than a blind guess.
2 or 3 pills might be perfect for you or they may be way too much for you… you might be better off with a Melatonin or Valerian pill instead as well. Your doctor can give you a better idea of what would be safe. Good luck and I hope I helped!
