Decorating tips with vases?
I am a big fan of vases. I love fun, bright colored vases in different sizes and different designs. I just wanted to get some tips on how to decorate with vases without making the area look cluttered or cheesy. I like simple, but I like unique as well. Any pictures or links are greatly appreciated. Thanks!
The important thing is grouping.
The really large vases can, of course be on the floor. Smaller ones on shelves and end tables and smallest ones on desks and shelves.
I would take all of the vases you have now and line them all up in a row. Take a look at them and see if you can see a pattern. A way to sort them. Do you have vases that have similar shapes? Similar colours? Made from similar material?
Once you have groupings together, find the perfect spot for these groupings. A corner of the room with a really large vase in the corner with three or more vases around it.
Imagine five or six (or seven) similar simple glass vases all in a row and there is a single gerber daisy (in a colour the compliments your room) in one of the vases. How cute.
Mix several vases on a shelf along with several photos. Be sure that the vases and the picture frames go well together. For instance, picture clear glass vases of several different shapes along with four or five plain white picture frames with colour (or black and white!) pictures in the frames. Chose either black and white or colour but don’t mix and match.
Or if you have a collection of vases that look nice together, get some candles that compliment and make a nice arrangement.
The important thing is trial and error. Try something. Do you like it?
Don’t be afraid to try something unexpected.
Do you have five or six vases that all have blue in them? Line them up and arrange them and add a single yellow vase.
Five orange vases? Add one green one.
Dont be afraid to experiment. That is half the fun!
